Let Walker & Associates show you how we innovate ordering appraisals

Years ago, most of our orders were ordered via fax and were confirmed with phone calls once we got back to the office. It might be hours before a client even knew if we could do the order. Things are quite a bit different now and when an order is placed on the site, we get a text message on our phones. We often log into this site from the field and send back an e-mail confirmation – including the time and date for the inspection if we've been able to talk to the occupant.

Walker & Associates understands that real estate is all about timeliness. We don't make you wait around for replies because we understand the speed at which we get things done directly effects your bottom-line. Through features on this website, we can actually reduce the amount of time needed for your appraisal.

Walker & Associates is a pioneer in efficient data gathering

Gathering the data for an appraisal is an in-depth process. We spend a great deal of time gathering both specific information about the subject property and general data about the local market and developing trends. Once again, technology has stepped in to help Walker & Associates.

Instead of using paper forms and pencils and then re-keying all the information back at the office, don't be surprised to see us with a tablet PC or collecting data using an application created for our phones that even lets us sketch a floorplan right on the spot. And instead of using an outdated tape measure, more and more appraisers are utilizing laser measuring devices that are quicker, more accurate, and can get into places that normal tape measures have always had problems with.

All of this technology ensures that the final report is as thorough and conclusive as possible. This helps both you and us by necessitating less time for call-backs and revisions. Our goal is to save you time and money.

Appraisal Report Delivery

Delivery of appraisals as PDF files through e-mail is definitely the standard these days. Generally our clients are most familiar with receiving PDFs attached to their e-mail. It's much more efficient than the old days before e-mail. But, we've even been able to innovate how you receive your report with this website.

Everyone knows how frustrating it is to lose a file. Or have you ever had problems sending or receiving an e-mail because of the file size? We have the technology to overcome those problems, too.  Whenever we send an appraisal, the client gets a link sent to their email to retrieve the PDF. So, at that point, it doesn't matter if all the extra photos and maps in the report result in a large file that would normally be blocked by e-mail. And the best thing is that the file will be hosted on this site for 90 days. So if you lose the file, you can log back in here and retrieve it again without even calling us or waiting for us to get to a computer so we can send it again.

Lastly, we use all digital workfiles...

It would be much easier if appraisers could complete an assignment, give it to the client and never worry about seeing that document again. However, appraisals are employed to demonstrate the condition of a property on the inspection date. Therefore, appraisers are required by law to keep their reports for 5 years, allowing them to recall any appraisal at any time to either defend the valuation or to be used in other legal proceedings.

To sum it all up, Walker & Associates uses all the technology available to us technology to improve service. By storing every aspect of the appraisal - notes, sketches, supporting documentation and calculations - along with the appraisal electronically, we're able to retrieve that document at any time and recall just what that report was about.

These are just a few examples of how we use technology daily. Utilizing the right software, services, gadgets and gizmos allows the appraiser to save time without cutting corners and deliver a better product to you, our client.
